Joanna Gaines is well known for hosting Fixer Upper with her husband, Chip Gaines. But before her success came plenty of struggles and self-doubt.

As reported by Thoughtful Women, Joanna has shared that her strength is put solely in God, and that he has guided her through all the ups and downs of her life.

In an interview in 2015, the reality star explained that she always turns to God when she has a difficult decision to make, and always faithfully trusts what he tells her.

As a child she already felt different from those around her, and this led to plenty of insecurities. It was there that she found God and started to listen to his plan for her.

When she met and married Chip, things started to fall into place for her, and she found that her new husband was just as supportive of her as God was.

Together the couple opened Magnolia Market, one of Joanna's dreams, and it quickly became a success. But shortly after they opened it, Joanna fell pregnant with their second child, and God wanted her at home with the family.

Heartbroken, she and Chip closed the market. But she always had faith that God would lead her back to it. She remembered that by the time they closed the market, she was at peace with the decision.

Not long after that, she and Chip were led to an opportunity that became the show Fixer Upper. A year in to the show, she felt God telling her it was time for her to reopen the market.

Years down the road, the market is a great success yet again. Joanna and Chip have just ended a five-season run of Fixer Upper, and she is starting a new reality show, Behind the Designs.

She is also pregnant with their fifth child, a boy, due later in 2018. The couple have opened up a restaurant, Magnolia Table, as well, which is enjoying plenty of success.
