E Online reported that Pauley Perrette, who plays Abby Sciuto, on NCIS shared details of her last day on the set of the show.

It was an emotional day for everyone as Pauley Perrette said goodbye to her costars on the show. She shared photos from the final day of shooting and revealed that the farewell will be told over two episodes.

The 49-year-old actress has been with the show since its inception 15 years ago.

‘Abby’s exit from #NCIS is in two parts. May 1 and May 8th. I worked really hard to give you my best. I really hope EVERYONE tunes in. Bless.’

The actress had announced her exit in a tweet in October last year in order to clear up rumors about the network and the makers of the show being upset with her.

She had said that the decision was made a year earlier and she hoped that everyone would love and enjoy her character not only for the rest of the season but for everything she has given over the last decade and a half.

The network, CBS, had issued a statement saying that she was a valued member of NCIS and the CBS family. Confessing that it was not easy to say goodbye to a beloved character and actress, the network said they respected her decision and expressed gratitude for her contributions to the series.

The executive producers, George Schenck and Frank Cardea, said that they have been working towards ‘a special send-off’ knowing it would be her final season.

They said Perrette had brought ‘incredible passion and specificity’ to her role and her character had inspired millions around the world.

Over the course of its lengthy run, the show has seen many actors parting, including Michael Weatherly, Cote de Pablo, etc.

The show also stars Mark Harmon, Sean Murray, Emily Wickersham, Wilmer Valderrama, Maria Bello, Brian Dietzen, Duane Henry, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum.
