Carrie Underwood gets outshined on stage by an amazingly talented little girl
Singer and songwriter, Carrie Underwood, is loved by her fans for many reasons. One of those reasons includes a duo with a girl called Genesis.
In 2013, Underwood was on stage performing when she spotted Genesis Nava in the crowd. The then 11-year-old was holding a sign that read 'Can I sing with you?'
As reported by Country Music Family, Underwood invited her onto the stage and asked Genesis which song she wanted to sing. Genesis replied: "Good Girl."
Underwood asked her band to play the song and told Genesis that she will start the song, and then hand the microphone over to her young guest.
The audience wasn't prepared for what happened next. Neither was Underwood! Genesis took the mic and gave a flawless performance.
She managed to reach the high notes, and the audience cheered as the sang. Clearly stunned, Underwood was dancing along to Genesis' beautiful rendition.
It was later confirmed that her talented stage mate appeared in season eight of America's Got Talent but unfortunately didn't make it to the finals.
The young contestant, born in Elsa, Texas, was eliminated during the Vegas Round. She had been singing since the age of three and said it is one of her passions.
The aspiring singer auditioned with her father, and she sang along while he played I Need You on the guitar. She got a resounding 'yes' vote and went through to the Vegas Round alone.
In episode 809, she gave a beautiful rendition of Carrie Underwood's Good Girl and admitted that she was a fan. Genesis was voted out and didn't make it to the quarterfinals.
Genesis has since uploaded the video to her own YouTube channel. It has been viewed more than 10,4 million times and garnered nearly 2,300 comments since 2013.
