'Today' correspondent emotionally reveals grandmother's condition amid a health crisis

Jenna Bush Hager chose to open up about her grandmother’s latest statement. Barbara Bush’s spokesman had released a statement about her health.

The statement clarified that the former First Lady would not be seeking any more medical help from henceforth. Hager appeared on Today to share her thoughts according to Entertainment Daily.

The statement that was released on April 15, 2018, said that Barbara Bush, 92, would ‘not seek additional medical treatment’ to aid her failing health. She would focus more on ‘comfort care’ during her remaining time.

The statement added that Bush was surrounded by a family that she adored. It said she appreciated the many kind messages and prayers she was receiving.

Hager spoke to Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie regarding her grandmother’s current status. She shared that her grandmother had reminded her not to believe everything she read.

She revealed that they were grateful for her, and everybody’s prayers and thoughts. The Today correspondent added that she knew the world was better because Bush was in it.

Former President George H.W. Bush was said to be by her side, along with other members of the family. Hager said that the fact that her grandparents were together in this and that he still said, ‘I love you Barbie’ every night was remarkable.

The two have been together for 73 years. Both have been struggling from ill-health for the past couple of years but have always managed to pull through.

Guthrie called Hager "remarkable" for sharing her feelings despite the tough time she and her family was going through. Kotb posted on Twitter after the news broke that she was praying for the Bush family.

The two grandparents have been husband and wife since 1945.
