Liftable reported that Barbara Bush has decided to return to her home in Houston, Texas, after being in and out of the hospital several times.

92-year-old Barbara Bush may have been loved and hated by many, but all agree that she has become an iconic former first lady.

She is well known for being the wife of a former president and the mother of another former president.

Recently, fans received the news with heavy hearts that she is now being cared for at her home. She declined further medical treatment.

Bush was in an out of the hospital several times in the past year alone and she may have made her decision. She has fought a long battle with the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.

She has probably realized that her time on earth is coming to an end.

Instead of taking her last breath within the confines and restraints of a hospital, she seems to have made a decision to go gracefully on her own terms.

The office of the former President released a statement confirming the news of her recent hospitalizations. It also revealed details of her treatment and hospitalization.

The statement said, ‘Following a recent series of hospitalizations, and after consulting her family and doctors, Mrs. Bush, now age 92, has decided not to seek additional medical treatment and will instead focus on comfort care.’

The statement also revealed that Bush was had stayed strong despite looking into the face of death.

The statement described her as being 'a rock in the face of her failing health,' and said that Bush has not been worrying for herself, mainly due to her abiding faith, but for the others.

Fans and admirers of the Bush family know that it will not be long until she breathes her last. However, the comforting thing is that she is surrounded by a family that she adores.

Bush also expressed her gratitude for the many kind messages and prayers she has received since making the difficult situation.
