According to Upsocl, this Mississippi deputy was on his daily routine when he saw something suspicious, but he never thought his dog was going to be the hero that day.

According to CNN, Deputy Todd Frazier, who was attacked by three men, is now injured but alive after a quick action by his K-9 officer.

Authorities revealed that he was driving on a deserted road during his night shift last week when he noticed a car at a rest stop in Pearlington, Mississippi.

Frazier got out of his vehicle around to check on a blue Lincoln Town Car with a darker vinyl top. That's when two other people came out of the woods.

According to Daily Mail, while these two men distracted him, the driver got out and ambushed him. All three men dragged Frazier into the nearby woods, beat him, and cut him with a box cutter.

"They told him they were going to slit his throat, and they were dragging him toward the woods," Chief Deputy Don Bass said.

According to USA Today, Sheriff Ricky Adam explained that it is not clear if the attack was related to recent threats by gangs to attack police on sight.

The same outlet explained that Frazier suffered a 2 1/2-inch cut to his forehead and multiple bodily injuries. According to the attending doctor, it looked like the cut was made by a box cutter.

"The three of them were dragging him toward the wooded area, and he was able to break one hand free to activate the button that opens the squad car door and it released Lucas," Bass said.

The dog bit one of the attackers before they escaped in the Lincoln, which police describe as possibly a 2000 model. Frazier was taken to Hancock Medical Center, where he was treated.
