Two brave heroes recently stopped a school shooting, but almost nobody knows about them

The teacher and the school resource officer helped stop a gunman from a possible school shooting in Florida.

Sky Bouche, 19, carried a shotgun in a guitar case and opened fire on April 20 in a school in Ocala, Florida, as reported by Inspiring Today.

The former student at Forest High School began shooting at 8:39 a.m.

Bouche went to the shool's bathroom and started putting on a tactical vest and gloves.

He was ready to kill when he left the bathroom. One of the classrooms he approached was locked but he shot through the door anyway.

A 17-year-old male student was injured in the incident. The student was shot in the ankle but luckily he was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

As the school becomes an emergency site under the authority of the local police service, Bouche decided to drop his weapon and took off.

“His hands were up, and he said he wanted to be arrested,” McManis-Panasuk told the Ocala Star Banner.

The business teacher added that Bouche told her he is mentally ill.

“I asked, ‘Did you shoot a gun?’ He said he did shoot a gun,” McManis-Panasuk continued.

James Long, the school resource officer deputy, arrested Bouche minutes after he fired that one shot. He had the gunman in custody at 8:42 a.m.

As reported by Fox News, Bouche “said he had been abused by his family his whole life, and he was done.”

When the Ocala Star Banner interviewed Bouche in the jailhouse, he said that what he did was not anger or hatred, "it’s an adrenaline rush."

“I spend most of my time in a room alone so I’m getting this rush, so that’s what I was feeling," he told the news outlet.

Inspiring Today reported that 'Bouche is held without bond' and that 'his next court date will be on May 22.'
