Chip reveals why he loves Joanna's weight gain during pregnancy
Chip Gaines confessed that he used to date big-boned women before he met Joanna, which didn't bode well with his wife.
The Fixer Upper star's revelation was made during the couple's guest appearance at the TODAY show on April 24, 2018. They were there to talk about food, but the awkward fact put a dent in the conversation.
The 43-year-old handyman was only complementing his wife, saying that he loved when his wife was pregnant, but Joanna tried to change topics, as reported by the Inquisitr.
The interview started well, with Joanna mentioning her new cookbook, Magnolia Table: A Collection of Recipes for Gathering, which feature different and original recipes created by her.
The topic led Chip to mention the extra pounds that his other half put on in the last few months, adding that bigger women were his 'jam.'
Instead of scolding her husband, Joanna mentioned the fantastic chicken pot pie that their fans would be able to find within the book. When asked if that the recipe was part of her cravings, she said no.
According to Joanna, her cravings are oranges and candy. Although she keeps eating healthy, she confessed that she couldn't say no to treats, such as gummies and chocolate.
“Anything a 5-year-old or younger would love is what I am craving right now, which is so weird!”

Aside from the candy and oranges, which she never felt any interest for, Joanna said that she often snacks on the offerings at Magnolia Table, the restaurant that the Gaines recently opened in Waco, Texas.
One of her favorite activities to do around the restaurant is to stop by the kitchen and help out because she can chow down on treats like biscuits with strawberry butter.
The Fixer Upper stars will soon see their family increase. Joanna's due date is set for July, and she will give birth to a baby boy, who will be joining his brothers, Duke and Drake, and sisters, Emmie and Ella.
Chip and Joanna met in 2001 at her father's store and ended up marrying in Waco on May 31, 2003. Together, they started flipping houses combining each other's strengths: renovation skills and an eye for interior design.
