Most of us want to have toned legs but are discouraged by the thought of strenuous workout routines.

In truth, toning one's legs can only take four simple and quick workouts, as reported by Relieved.

Lack of time - or more accurately, bad time management - is the oft-cited reason for not working out, going for a run or hitting the gym.

Famous coach Tracy Anderson developed and popularized the following short but effective exercises:

1. Exercise for the back of your thighs

Lie on your back with your legs completely raised at a 90-degree angle and knees kept together. After that, alternate bending the knees and try to touch the bottom with your heels. While doing this, make sure that your toes are constantly being pulled towards your body. Repeat this process at least ten times for both legs.

Return to the initial position, with your legs raised and slightly bent at the knees. Swing both of your legs while raising your butt. You should feel that the upper part of your legs tenses up while doing this.

2. Exercise for the front of your thighs

Lie on your back and place your arms down. Raise your legs at a 90-degree angle with the knees in a straight position. After that, bend your knees one by one before going back to their straight position. You'll start to have a burning sensation in your legs after a couple of times. Repeat at least ten times for both legs.

3. Exercise for the inner part of the thighs

Once again, lie on your back and raise your legs. This time, cross your legs instead of positioning them straight next to each other. Cross the right leg over your left and press them against each other.

Next, bend your knees outward to make a 'frog move' as far as you can. This should be repeated at least 10 times for best results.

4. Jumping jacks

Doing jumping jacks create high-intensity and explosive movements to your lower body, calves, thighs, and hips.

Simply jump with your legs spread wide and make sure that your hands touch each other overhead while jumping. Doing jumping jacks for at least 30 seconds every day will help a great deal in toning your legs.
