Listerine can be used for a number of things and it is one of the must-have items in the medicine cabinet, reported Shared.

It was marketed for its present use only in the 1970’s. However, it had been used to remove fungus, and even repel fleas and pets for a long time.

It has multiple health benefits, here is a list of things that one can use a bottle of Listerine for.

For the feet

To get rid of those stubborn toenail fungus, run a Listerine foot bath. Mix some Listerine with warm water and soak the feet for 30 minutes.

If faced with more stubborn infections, add some white vinegar for better results.

For the toilet

This could come as a surprise to many, but Listerine’s cleaning and deodorizing nature can be made use of for the toilet.

Just pour some liquid on the toilet brush and scrub the entire bowl for a clean place that smells great.

To stop the itch

A bad itch, an insect bite, or poison ivy rash? Don’t worry, Listerine can be helpful in all such situations.

Use a cotton ball with a little bit of Listerine on it and apply on the affected area to feel the itch disappear.

For the underarms

If one has run out of deodorant, Listerine can come in handy. It is said that it is excellent for fighting underarm odor.

Dab a little bit of the liquid on to a cotton ball and rub it over the armpits.

For fighting dandruff

Use the mouthwash on the scalp to get rid of those pesky flakes. Simply massage some Listerine onto the scalp and then wrap the hair in a towel.

Let it sit for a few minutes and then wash the hair to say goodbye to dandruff.

For the pet

It is a cheap alternative to the more expensive flea sprays and pet products, providing a more natural approach.

Mix some Listerine with the pet shampoo or dilute it with water in a spray bottle.

For the face

The positive powers of Listerine will make the face cleaner than one could even think imaginable.

Pour some of the liquid on to a cotton ball and apply it on the face. It can also fight acne due to its antiseptic qualities.
