DJ Avicii's cause of death has finally been revealed
The 28-year-old's death has been somewhat of a mystery for the past few days, but it was now revealed that Avicii committed suicide with a broken bottle.
The musician, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead in his hotel bathroom on April 20, 2018, in Oman, and his family attributed the suicide to his struggle to find peace.
It is believed that the star broke a bottle and used a shard of glass to wound himself in his neck and wrists, having passed away due to massive bleeding, as reported by the Mirror.
Even though Bergling's music moved people and brought them happiness, it didn't do much for him. In fact, his mind was constantly battling with the meaning of life and how to achieve the perfect balance.
The revelation was made by his family, who described him as a 'seeker' and a 'fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions.' The environment he found himself in didn't help either.
Those who knew him remembered how introvert he was. Although Bergling loved music and adored sharing it with the world, he wasn't cut out for show business, fame and constant pressure.
The 28-year-old gave up touring in 2016 because he couldn't handle the lifestyle anymore, as it started taking a toll on his health. At one point, he was living exclusively on booze Red Bull, cigarettes and fast-food.
The heavy drinking led him to suffer from acute pancreatitis and he had to have his gallbladder and appendix removed. Bergling hoped that his fans would understand, but he was severely criticized for his decision to quit.
"Everyone knows that I've had anxiety and that I have tried. I did not expect that people would try to pressure me into doing more gigs."

The musician's death shocked a lot of people, but he previously shared that would eventually end up dead if he continued to live his life the way that he did.
Bergling starting touring in 2009 and performed for crowds all around the world, doing a total of 813 shows in almost 8 years.
