Dad records the moment their Chihuahua meets their newborn baby for the first time
A footage shows the moment a Chihuahua reacts to meeting its owner’s newborn.
Chihuahua Quica had her first meet-and-greet with the baby and she didn't display any fear of what the parents might have expected, as reported by Inspire More.
In the video that was captured at a home in Dublin, Ireland on March 14, Quica looked excited as she sees 4-day-old Nicholas. The baby was lying in his father's arms.
When Nicholas' father, who recorded the video, approaches Quica to show her the newborn more closely, the playful pooch wagged her tail and lies on her back as if it was mimicking the new member of the family
Nicholas’ mother writes: “When I was pregnant my chihuahua Quica was very protective of my bump. Whenever my husband would attempt to rub my belly or touch my bump Quica would instinctively react and snap at my husband to stay back.”
“Consequently, we knew that Quica would be eager to meet the precious goods. We were stunned by Quica’s reaction which was to immediately submit to Nicholas,” the mother added.
She continued that their little Chihuahua "displayed a remarkable motherly instinct" and that she was protective from the very start.
"Ever since Quica stands guard by Nicholas’ crib and watches over his every move while eagerly wagging her tail," the proud mother said.
According to Chihuahua Wardrobe, Chihuahuas and small children can live together in the same house, but only when appropriate training and precautionary measures are taken.
The owners should pass on a Chihuahua if they are not willing to invest time every day with training.
Though Chihuahuas are fun-loving pets, they have a reputation for being snappy and sometimes even aggressive.
