Did April die on 'Grey's Anatomy'?
Those who have watched all seasons of Grey’s Anatomy know that Shonda Rhimes, the show’s creator, head writer, and executive producer, likes dramatic endings.
Even though the most recent one, released on May 10, 2018, was the season’s penultimate, it kept viewers worried about one of the characters that will leave the series when the current season ends: Dr. April Kepner.
It is important to point out that this article will contain spoilers of the 23rd episode of the 14th season of Grey’s Anatomy. Daily Mail reported that Kepner was in a car with her ex-fiancée, Matthew Taylor, when they had an accident.
Paramedics arrived at the scene but they only saw Taylor, who was immediately transported to the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Once there, Dr. Bailey recognized that Taylor was Kepner’s partner and asked an intern to contact her. What Bailey didn’t know was that Kepner never made it to the hospital that day.
Barely conscious, Taylor told the doctors that Kepner warned him about an icy curve, what made them believe that she was with him in the car. Owen drove to the crash scene and found Kepner at the bottom of a ravine
When they got to the hospital, they noticed that Kepner was hypothermic and without a pulse so they had to get her temperature from 68 to 86 degrees before restarting her heart.
After some drama between Dr. Avery and the rest of the doctors who were taking care of Kepner ended, she regained a pulse. While she was alive, she was still unconscious.
At her bedside, Avery, who has always said he doesn’t believe in God, started praying for her. Miraculously, she squeezed her hand, opened her eyes, and told him that his prayers had worked.
Taylor and Kepner’s beds were placed side-by-side so they could recover themselves together. The last episode of the season is set to be released on May 17, 2018, and it will represent the exit of Sarah Drew and Jessica Capshaw (Doctors Kepner and Arizona) from the show.
