Ben Affleck’s beau breaks silence on her private life as a girlfriend of the famous actor
Lindsay Shookus is much more than just Ben Affleck’s girlfriend. After dating for over a year, there is still so much we don’t know about her and she discloses in an interview what she is all about.
Most people know Lindsay Shookus from her relationship with Ben Affleck, but there is more to the lady than meets the eye. Although she has made a name for herself as a successful producer on Saturday Night Live, Shookus lives a private life that she is not ready to give up yet. Dating actor Ben Affleck brought her into the limelight, but that is not a place she wants to be according to an interview she had with Elle Magazine.
Since Shookus and Affleck got together, there have been lots of rumors about their relationship mostly based on hearsay. The producer has never addressed any rumor about her or her relationship with the actor. When referred to as a public figure during the interview, Shookus politely told the interviewee that she prefers life behind the camera.
“My entire career has been behind the camera, and that’s definitely where I’m most comfortable. I’m a producer, I’m a mom, a friend. Being considered a public figure honestly makes me laugh.”
Shookus, who is a mother of one, grew up in New York where she said “show business meant, like, the local news.” She never thought of the entertainment industry as the kind of place to build a career until she landed a film internship in New York. “I realized you could have an actual career in entertainment. And I just had no reason to think I couldn’t do it.”
After graduating as a journalist in 2002, the SNL producer moved to Manhattan where she secured a job as an assistant in the talent department at Saturday Night Live within weeks of arriving. Shookus’ hard work and ambition made Marci Klein, an SNL producing legend (and Calvin Klein’s daughter) notice her and mentor her to be the producer she is today. “Very early on, Marci let me interact with talent and take over more responsibilities.” After Klein bid the show goodbye in 2012, Shookus took her place as one of the only two female head producers in the show.
Shookus’ relationship with Affleck seems to be doing fine and she is not paying the rumormongers any mind. She believes that “Someone thinks about you for one minute and then says, ‘What do I want for lunch?'”
