The wedding gift from Duchess Meghan to Duchess Kate
Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s wedding was by far the most-watched event of that day. However, there were a couple of aspects of it that came unnoticed.
Apart from the tote bags filled with gifts that many guests received, Meghan made sure that her closest friends and her now sister-in-law Duchess Kate got something special and useful: a piece of jewelry.
In an interview that Lisette Polny, the founder of Zofia Day, had with People, she revealed that Meghan gave Kate and six of her best friends a solid gold disc bracelet called Kensington.
Polny added that those bracelets were specifically designed for the wedding and that Meghan approved them. At the moment, the bracelets are available in the Zofia Day’s website in three different colors for $450.
Apart from Kate, Meghan’s closest friends and confidants Benita Litt - who sat next to Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, during the ceremony - and Jessica Mulroney received the Kensington bracelets.
Litt’s two daughters, Rylan and Remi, also got a gift designed by Zofia Day: the Windsor Heart Pendant Necklace ($675) and the Charlotte Bow Necklace ($950).
When Polny was asked about what was it like to create pieces of jewelry for one of the biggest and most important events of the year, she admitted that it was an ‘overwhelming honor’ as her bracelets and necklaces are now part of history.
She added that pieces had a simple yet elegant pattern that was very similar to Meghan’s personal style. Finally, she pointed out that she had always wanted to create a line for young girls, so the wedding was the perfect occasion for that.
Talking about Meghan’s Givenchy dress, Polny confessed that the bride captured the essence of classic beauty and portrayed exactly how a modern princess with timeless elegance should look like.
Polny pointed out that, apart from the structure of the dress, her ‘stunning’ tiara was the highlight of her entire wedding outfit.
