Steve Harvey’s daughter is not only intelligent, but she is also a beautiful woman who makes healthy choices and speaks up whenever she needs to. Not much is said about her mom especially now that she and Harvey are divorced, but they raised strong children.

Marcia Harvey was once married to famous American TV show host, anchor, producer, and an actor Steve Harvey long before he became the man he is today. Their relationship ended over a decade but they still share a bond between them through their children.

According to eCeleb Gossip, the couple tied the knot in 1980 and went on to start a family almost immediately with the birth of their twin girls Karli Harvey and Brandi Harvey. Later, they welcomed son Broderick Harvey Jr., making them a family of five. At the time Harvey was an insurance salesman and so he struggled to feed his family.

Being an ambitious man with talent, Harvey knew he was destined for better than selling insurance policies and so he quit his job to focus on a career as a comedian, something that didn’t go down well with Marcia. In an interview, the actor said his then-wife thought, rightfully, that the decision was reckless for a man with a family to feed.

“I’m married, I have twins [Brandi and Karli, now 36]. I’m supposed to provide for them, but I had to take this chance.”

His talent for comedy was beginning to gain recognition and he needed to see what could become of him of he followed his calling. The distress led to cracks in his marriage to Marcia and eventually they divorced in 1994. His children certainly felt his absence, but they made peace with it later after seeing what their dad had become. “Years later they said to me, ‘Dad, we didn’t understand why you left us, but we know now you had to go. You didn’t just belong to us. You belonged to the world,’ That was emotional for me.”

The twins are now 36 while the boy is 26. Karli is married and has a beautiful son. The kids and their dad have a close relationship.
