Taking to her Instagram to greet her mother Sandra Coleman a happy birthday, the 10-time Grammy award-winning singer posted a sweet photo with the birthday girl, both wearing big smiles on their faces and revealing their special bond.
Glowing in her scarlet and grey ensemble complemented by her fiery red hair, the 65-year-old appeared ageless next to her equally young-looking mother who cleaned up well in a black and white floral dress paired with a black blazer. In the short caption she penned, the singer born Yvette Marie Stevens wrote,
“Wishing & Celebrating my fabulous mother, Sandra Coleman. Happy Birthday Mommy Love Yvette Marie”
Last month, Chaka wowed audiences of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ after she gave a powerful performance of her hit ‘I’m Every Woman’ to commemorate the series finale of the successful ABC show ‘Scandal.’
The talk show host had the cast of ‘Scandal’ as guests including show creator Shonda Rimes. Following their interview, the singer performed her 1978 disco hit which became the anthem for Washington’s character Olivia Pope in the popular drama.
Chaka later posted a video with Kimmel backstage as they engaged in conversation after the show. The singer stunned in a black dress with leather fringes as her signature big hair fell in tiny black waves down her shoulders. She thanked the talk show host in her caption as he likewise did in the short clip.
