Gabby Sidibe flaunts her slimmer curves in grey sweatshirt in new video
The “Precious” star’s weight loss is clearly visible in the clip and her gradual transformation is impressive. Although Gabby realizes that compliments on her appearance comes from a good place, she’s not all that impressed by being congratulated on her weight loss.
Celebritist learned from “Instagram” that the 35-year-old actress, who is also well-known for her role in the hit series “Empire”, looked relaxed while fanning herself in the clip. When she throws open the fan the words “Power Bottom” is clearly seen
In a 2017 interview with “People”, the actress revealed that she underwent laproscopic bariatric surgery in May 2016 after she and her brother, Ahmed, were diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Gabby said her decision to take this drastic step was motivated by worry. She didn’t want to worry about what diabetes could do to her body.
“What angers me about what people say about my body is that they assume that they care about my health more than I do. And that is impossible. You don’t care. You only care that you have a voice, and you think your voice gets to say something about me. But I care more than anybody really knows.”
Gabby works out regularly and says that her relationship with food had to change after the surgery. She admits she still really likes cake, but the difference is that now she knows better and she does better, instead of knowing better and wishing you had done better. She has set weight loss goals, but keeps the start and end numbers to herself.
The award-winning actress told “Refinery 29” that she’s not all that impressed with fans congratulating her on her weight loss.
“It doesn’t rock me. It just annoys me because I’m just like, don’t congratulate me on that. If you’re going to congratulate me on my weight loss, also congratulate me every time I pee. Congratulate me every time I’m burping. Because my body actually has nothing to do with you, and I don’t really need your support for it.”
The actress released her memoir “This Is Just My Face: Try Not to Stare” in last year, detailing her weight loss journey and unconventional rise to fame. Speaking to Robin Roberts on the podcast “Everybody’s Got Something”, Gabby opened up about various topics that also appear in her book, like haters, fashion, race and weight. Perhaps one of the biggest messages Gabby would like to convey can be found in her memoir.
“If I could just get the world to see me the way I see myself, would my body still be a thing you walked away thinking about?”
