Melania Trump explained why she was absent from the public eye for 20 days
Melania Trump has reassured the public as to her wellbeing and continued presence in the White House
Melania Trump has posted a statement on Twitter, to reassure people that she is well and working for the good of the Nation and the children.
The First Lady was last seen in public 20 days ago, on the 10th of May 2018 at the Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, where she and her husband, President Donald Trump, greeted US citizens released from North Korea.
On the 14th of May, the White House announced that the 48-year-old First Lady had undergone a surgical procedure to her kidney known as an “embolization.”
The kidney embolization procedure is done to stop blood flow to a portion of the kidney, explained Dr. John Friedewald, the medical director of kidney and pancreas transplantation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
“I’m here at the White House with my family, feeling great, & working hard on behalf of children & the American people!”

The official report stated that there had been no complications and that Melania was recovering well. She spent five nights at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland as a precaution.
The sudden hospitalization worried the public, especially since Melania had been expected to stay for two days, and remained in the hospital for five days.
When questioned about his wife's health, President Donald Trump told reporters: “She’s doing great,” and he pointed up at her window, declaring; “Right there. She’s doing great. Just looking at us, right there.”
Though she was absent and made no public appearances, Melania posted on her social media accounts on Mother’s Day and Memorial Day. She expressed her sympathy for the victims of the Santa Fe shooting, and sent a message to Britt Slabinski, a former navy seal who received a Medal of Honor at the White House.
Melania is said to be busy with forthcoming projects such as the annual White House picnic and planing the Independence Day festivities.
Despite the criticism, Melania is taking confident steps towards the life of the political elite.
