Nia Long cuddles up with longtime partner Ime Udoka in sweet selfie
The 'NCIS: Los Angeles' star reveals the happy state she and her long term fiance are in proving her love going as strong as her career.
They’ve been engaged since 2015 with a 6-year-old son named Kez Sunday. And Nia Long and her longtime boyfriend Ime Udoka were a picture of a contented couple as the former shared a sweet selfie from their home.
No words were needed for the snap the 47-year-old actress posted as the heart-eyed emoji she placed in her caption said it all. Nia and Ime looked cute while cuddling in a couch, proof that their 8-year relationship is for keeps.
The ‘Big Mommas House’ star exuded a fresh glow as she framed her pretty face with neatly tied braided hair. Her darkened eyelashes stood out along with her nude lips as she leaned close to her boyfriend who held a cellphone to his ear. Though the former NBA player seemed busy with a call, he made sure he smiled for the camera to oblige his partner.
It’s been three years since the couple got engaged and there hasn’t been any word of an impending wedding. Knowing the busy actress, she’s not one to rush it, admitting back in 2013 that women shouldn’t be pressured to settle down at a certain age just because others are doing it. She told Rolling Out,
“I think that women who are extremely driven to success, ambitious, I think they get to a point in their lives where they're like, 'Uh oh. I am 30-something years old, and I don't have a husband and I don't have children yet and what does that mean?' I think what it means is stay in your course because it's going to happen when it's supposed to happen."It doesn't happen for everyone at the same time, so you can't compare your life to someone else's."
Nia also believes there should always be a balance between career and love and career-driven women shouldn’t discount the fact that love is essential.
“You have to have an open heart to be vulnerable to accept it when it does come. I think the more success you have as a woman, you kinda go, 'Well, I don't really need a man 'cause look: I have everything I want,' but the truth is you do need a partner because at some point in your life you're not going to want to walk alone."
As her life unfolds, Nia is proof that love and career go hand in hand. Her relationship with Ime is stronger than ever and she has managed to keep her career afloat. She’s currently a series regular in NCIS: Los Angeles where she plays executive assistant director Shay Mosely following a string of movies and television show appearances since she began her career more than three decades ago.
