President Donald Trump revealed who he thought was 'the best country singer ever'

President Donald Trump met the widow of a country icon in Nashville and named his pick for the 'Best Country Singer ever.'

As reported by Country Music Nation, President Trump met Nancy Jones, the widow of the late George Jones, and shared with her that he believed that Jones was the greatest country singer ever.

George Jones official Facebook page appreciated Trump's compliment and shared his quote along with a photo of Trump with Nancy Jones.

The photo was captioned 'Nancy met President Trump last week in Nashville - according to the president, “George Jones was the best country singer ever.” We couldn’t agree more!'

Fans and followers of the legendary country singer were elated after learning the President's taste in music and commented on the photo.

One follower, Brandon Word, agreed with Trump and said that Jones was the best singer. He added that Trump will go down as the best President of the United States.

Another follower, Monroe Janet, pointed out at the photo of Trump with Nancy and said that Trump looked rested and happy in the picture.

She was glad that the President was a fan of George Jones and loved Trump's smile int he picture. The user believed that it was the best photo of Trump she had seen so far. She also added that Nancy looked beautiful as always.

Another fan, Diann Rhodus, agreed that the photo of Trump was one of his best. She praised the capability of Goerge Jones to make anyone smile. She concluded her echoing the President's thoughts that George Jones was the best.

Netizen Will Cox believed validated Trump's choice for the best country singer ever and said that George Jones would have been all about making America great again.

George Jones achieved global recognition for his song He Stopped Loving Her Today in 1980. The song instantly became a crowd favorite and topped the charts for 18 weeks.

For the last 20 years of his career, Jones was referred to as the greatest living country singer. At the age of 81, he lost his life on April 26, 2013, after six days in intensive care.
