Dan Bongino built a career speaking out on justice and law enforcement. Now, he's trading the microphone for a badge of authority—under the leadership of President Trump.
Political commentator, Dan Bongino has been appointed as the new deputy director of the FBI. President Donald Trump announced the news on social media on the Truth platform. In his statement, Trump praised Bongino's law enforcement background and dedication to the country.

President Trump called the appointment "great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice," describing Bongino as "a man of incredible love and passion for our Country." He highlighted Bongino's experience as a former NYPD officer, a Secret Service agent, and "one of the most successful Podcasters in the Country."
Trump praised Bongino's dedication and his willingness to leave his media career behind to serve in the role. Bongino will work alongside FBI Director Kash Patel and U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi.
In the post, President Trump expressed confidence in their leadership, stating that "Fairness, Justice, Law and Order will be brought back to America, and quickly."
The appointment sparked an immediate response from Bongino's wife, Paula. She took to social media to express her pride, sharing a screenshot of Trump's post. Her message was a brief heartfelt caption, "I am so proud of this man."
Bongino, a well-known podcaster and political commentator, holds a master's degree in psychology from CUNY and an MBA from Penn State. His appointment marks a significant shift in the FBI's leadership as the agency moves forward under President Trump's administration's direction.
Bongino was more than just a commentator. His presence on Rumble reshaped the platform, driving rapid growth and attracting millions of viewers. As a major shareholder, his impact went beyond content creation, helping position Rumble for long-term success.

He set new standards for online streaming, regularly dominating livestream rankings across platforms. Bongino's audience size and engagement were unmatched, making him a central figure in Rumble's expansion.
While his content brought in significant viewership, the platform's revenue from his shows remained minimal due to third-party advertising agreements.
Even as Bongino embraces a new chapter as FBI deputy director, and steps away from his media career, Rumble has expressed confidence in his eventual return. The platform looks forward to welcoming back one of its most influential voices once this chapter of public service concludes.

Bongino's career has been defined by service. Before stepping into media, he spent over a decade in law enforcement, first with the NYPD and then as a Secret Service special agent. He investigated financial fraud and international terrorism in New York before becoming an instructor at the agency’s training academy.
In 2006, he joined the elite Presidential Protection Division, serving under both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. He later transferred to Baltimore before leaving the Secret Service in 2011.

Following his appointment as FBI deputy director, Bongino shared an emotional video reflecting on his journey. He expressed deep gratitude to his wife, Paula, recalling the early days of his podcast. He described how they started "in a basement," with Paula editing show clips before it became a leading livestream, podcast, and radio show.
Stepping away from that success, he admitted, was not easy. He acknowledged the impact his show had built over the years but said he felt the time had come for him to serve in a different capacity.
Thanking his loyal audience, whom he calls "The Bongino Army," he shared that he often felt his work as a commentator wasn't a "real job" compared to those in hands-on professions like pilots, doctors, and contractors.
Now, he believes the right opportunity has arrived, and he is embracing it fully. As Dan Bongino takes on his new role, all eyes will be on how his leadership shapes the FBI's future.
