Meghan Markle stuns: Pretty in pink at the Queen's birthday celebrations
The Duchess of Sussex wore an unusual outfit and broke Royal Protocol
Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 92nd birthday on the 9th of June 2018, and the whole of the United Kingdom celebrated with her. Her husband, Prince Philip, who retired from royal duties last year, turns 97 on the 10th of June, reported Unilad on their Facebook page.
The famous military parade, The Trooping of the Colour, was attended by the whole Royal family, except the Prince Consort.
Prince Charles, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the newlyweds, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were present.
For Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, this was a new experience, and in her inimitable manner, she managed to circumvent tradition with her elegance and sense of style
It is customary for the Royals to coordinate the color of their garb in order to present a harmonious image; the Queen, the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Cornwall all wore the same shade of pale blue, but Duchess Meghan chose to wear a delicate shell pink.
This was not her only break with protocol. Duchess Meghan wore a tailored Carolina Herrera suit which left her shoulders bare.
Royal women are not supposed to wear off-shoulder or other more revealing styles during the day, and their evening wear is required to be equally circumspect.
Princess Diana caused a scandal when she donned the famous - and fabulous - ‘revenge dress’ for to the Serpentine Gallery summer party in 1994, the same night Prince Charles admitted to having an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
The sensuous dress was designed by Christina Stambolian and became a byword for the plunging neckline, something no other Royal woman had ever flaunted before.
Duchess Meghan looked discreet, dignified and elegant, and she dressed to please herself, and according to her own excellent taste and personal style.
