Melania Trump makes first solo appearance since surgery in chic $2,700 gown

The First Lady of the US recently made a solo appearance for a gala. There Melania Trump dazzled in a very expensive dress.

According to the Saks Fifth Avenue website, the dress cost above $2,700. It’s said to be partly made of silk among other fabrics.

On Sunday night Melania Trump made another public appearance after undergoing kidney surgery. She wore a black, silver, and white gown.

Trump was seen at the White House for the annual Lincoln Medal gala. She welcomed guests to Fords Theater weeks after her operation for a benign kidney condition.

The First Lady also made a speech at the event. On Twitter, she shared images of herself posing with fellow guests.

At the event, she wore the $2,757 Escada gown which was made from a blend of triacetate, polyester, and silk. Escada is well-known as a German luxury designer clothing brand.

Trump gave the evening’s closing remarks and awarded the Lincoln Medal to Sheila Johnson, who co-founded Black Entertainment Network (BET) with her ex-husband Robert. Johnson later sold the company to Viacom for $2.9 billion.

Another medal was also awarded to professional golfer Jack Nicklaus. Trump attended as the honorary chair of the annual gala.

The award honors those who have embodied President Abraham Lincoln’s legacy through their work. “I was honored to be part of such a special evening,” the first lady said in a statement.

“Tonight reminds all of us about the power the arts have in cultivating the American voice. Thank you to Ford’s Theatre Society for tonight, and your continued dedication to education and leadership in the arts — the impact they have on society is invaluable and something we will continue to cherish throughout time,” reported CNN.

Last year, Trump attended the gala with her husband, President Donald Trump. This year he couldn’t attend as he is currently in Singapore for his summit with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un.
