The mother-daughter duo stepped out together for a fun outing, but people immediately noticed the weight gain.
Mama June Shannon and her daughter, Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, enjoyed a day out exploring New York City on June 11, just two days before the second season of their show is set to premiere.
As reported by People, Thompson, who is just 12 years old, is already almost the same height as her mother.
The pre-teen wore a patterned black and white t-shirt with a plain white back, and a fitted pair of black trousers. She left her waving dark blonde hair hanging loosely on her shoulders.
Shannon opted for a plain white shirt with a lace trim on the hemline and sleeves, and a pair of black pants. She also carried a small purple handbag on her one arm. Aside from her bangs, she had pulled her hair back into a ponytail.
It was obvious that Shannon has not been able to keep off the weight she lost in 2017
Shannon lost 300 pounds and dropped to a size four dress in the first season of Mama June: From Not To Hot after she discovered that her ex-husband was getting married again.
Season 2 of the show documents the lead-up to Shannon and Thompson's first mother-daughter pageant, and the previews have seen Shannon struggling to fit into her dresses for the event.
“I’m gonna look smokin’ hot in my dress no matter what,” she said as she grappled with a size 8 dress. “What did they do to my dress? Did they take it in another inch or two? This is [expletive]. The pageant is in a couple weeks, I don’t have time to buy another dress. Alterations take forever in a damn day."
Shannon later enlisted the help of her sister to get her into the garment, and her sister also commented on the fast weight gain, suggesting Shannon might actually need a size 12.
