Donald Trump fires back at Robert De Niro after actor's scandalous comment
Famous actor Robert De Niro bashed President Donald Trump at the recent Tony Awards ceremony. While giving a speech at the event, the actor swore at the President a number of times.
Trump chose to respond to De Niro via a Twitter post. The President insinuated that the actor, who has starred in many films as a boxer, had been hit too many times and his brain was damaged.
On the live television broadcast of Sunday night's Tony Awards, De Niro took the time to berate the US President. Before introducing a performance from Bruce Springsteen, the actor used an expletive in reference to Trump several times.
The swear word was bleeped out by the CBS network. When De Niro addressed Springstreen directly he told him, "Even more important in these perilous times, you rock the vote. Always fighting for, in your own words, truth, transparency and integrity in government. Boy do we need that now"
The actor’s comments brought in a standing ovation at the event. He also received a huge amount of reactions on social media.
De Niro has also previously said he would like to punch the President. In response to the star’s recent rant, Trump described him as ‘a very Low IQ individual.’
‘Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be “punch-drunk.”’

The President alluded to the actor saying the things he said because of being punched too many times during his acting career. In previous times, De Niro has been critical of Trump.
During the 2016 election campaign, the actor released a video in which he rallied against Trump. There he called him "an idiot" and a "national disaster."
At the time he said he would move to Italy if Trump was elected. The town where his great-grandparents lived offered him ‘refuge’ when Trump was elected.
On the day of the result, De Niro joked that he was indeed going to move. The actor isn’t the only celebrity who’s spoken up against the President.
Last year, Meryl Streep strongly criticized him at the Golden Globes saying his actions legitimized bullying. Trump hit back by labeling her as ‘one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood.’
He called the three-time Oscar-winner ‘a Hillary flunky who lost big.’ For more go to our Twitter account @amomama_usa.
