The bittersweet moment cyclists rescue a puppy stranded in a freezing river

A cyclist was on his way when he spotted a puppy fighting for life in a freezing river.

Junkinmedia.com reported that the incident occurred in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on August 17, 2016.

The cyclist could not have imagined what he would come across on that day.

It was a bittersweet moment for him when he was riding past a freezing river. Something caught his eye in the water body.

The man immediately got into action and decided to rescue a puppy stranded in the frigid waters.

He walks down a path laden with bushes and plants to reach the river. The video shows a brown puppy tied to a stone to the middle of the waterbody.

The puppy appears to be standing there in freezing temperature for a long time. It is tired and does not flinch when the cyclist approaches it

The cyclist walks into the river and hears the puppy calling for help. It seems to have given up on any struggle to free itself from the leash.

The man realizes that the leash is tied to a stone and immediately removes it from its neck. He then takes the puppy to the river bank.

The animal looks tired and the cyclist has no idea who was responsible for the terrible act. But the dog was happy that the man turned out to be a good Samaritan.

The puppy was saved from a certain death and was taken to a local animal shelter.

The good news was that it was treated for its injuries and it found a new family for itself. The puppy’s sad story and its adorable nature probably touched several hearts.

The cyclist was in the right place at the right time and saved a young life.
