Chrissy Teigen & John Legend give empowering present for President Donald Trump's 72nd birthday

The celebrity couple's unique birthday gift for the President is sure to make him squirm.

It’s Donald Trump’s 72ndbirthday and celebrity couple Chrissy Teigen and John Legend thought it would be the perfect time to donate a $288k gift to the organization that’s working hard in protecting those suffering under Trump’s administration’s immigration policies.

The feisty mother of Legend’s two children took to Twitter to deliver her birthday gift to the President which came in the form of a long message. She called out Trump on his “inhumane policies” which she described as “cruel, anti-family and go against everything we believe this country should represent.” She also encouraged donations to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) after she announced that her family had just donated $72,000 per member to the ACLU to commemorate Trump’s 72nd.

In the message she captioned “happy birthday, @realDonaldTrump”, the outspoken model also encouraged her followers to follow their lead and donate any amount. She suggested,

“If you would like to donate $7.20, $72, or whatever you like to the ACLU in honor of this blessed day, please go to www.aclu.org/72.”

It’s no secret that many families who are seeking asylum in the United States have been torn by the recently implemented immigration policies of the Trump administration. Those found to be illegally crossing the border are separated from their children who are sent to government custody while their parents are sent to jail.

Images of children crying themselves to sleep faced with the reality of losing their parents have been shared on Twitter. A man from Honduras also killed himself inside his detention cell when his child was removed from him.

According to Reuters, around 1800 families have been separated at the border from October 2016 to February 2018, an alarming evidence of the inhumane practice.

Teigen has had a long history of criticizing the President on Twitter. Trump eventually blocked her from his account but that didn’t stop the 32-year-old from pursuing her mission of attacking him with her unique brand of class and wit. Her latest tweet is proof that sometimes the best way to beat an enemy is to kill him with kindness.
