Now that summer is here, Gabrielle Union felt the need to spread a timely message on self-love as she partnered up with the lingerie retailer Aerie to spread body positivity during swimsuit season.

People tend to be a little bit harsher on themselves during summer time, pushing themselves harder in the gym and trying all sorts of cleanses and diets just to get their perfect "summer body". The model shares that during summer, or "swimsuit season" as she calls it, people's insecurities tend to come out. According to Union, the need to show off some skin triggers some insecurities when it comes to cellulite, ingrown hairs, scars, body diversity, ageism, and more.

However, Gabrielle reassures her fans and followers that it is important to embrace and love every inch of one's self regardless of their shape and size. She encourages women all over the world to embrace their imprerfections and flaunt their bodies.

"Love the swim you’re in! Swimsuit season can trigger a lot of insecurities... cellulite, ingrown hairs, scars, body diversity, ageism, you name it! But it's important to always embrace, own, and love every inch of yourself... imperfections and all! OWN what your mama gave ya! For every unretouched photo you share with #AerieREAL, @Aeriewill donate $1 (up to $25K) to @NEDA . #AeriePartner"

While the campaign itself is already empowering, Union states the brand's intention of donating $1 to the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) every time someone posts an unretouched swimsuit photo on Instagram using the hashtag #AerieReal.
