Ivana Trump appeared in a tight eye-catching dress for diet program debut at Plaza Hotel

Ivana Trump, President Trump's first wife, is promoting an expensive Italian diet as part of her campaign to find a solution against adult obesity in the US.

On Wednesday, June 13, Donald Trump's first wife appeared at New York City's Plaza Hotel to promote the Italiano Diet that promises healthy comfort food for weight loss, as reported by The New York Times.

Ivana announced her plan of going to tour the country with dietitian Gianluca Mech in an attempt to end the nationwide public-health scourge, which is often linked to poverty. However, the diet comes at a substantial price of more than $1,000 for just 45 days of food.

This Italiano Diet offers specially formulated low-calorie, low-carbohydrate packaged meals. It is inspired by Mediterranean food that is enriched with natural ingredients and infused with herbs to help detoxify the body and aid digestion.

Ms. Trump, who once appeared in commercials for Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken, said she agreed to talk up the Italiano Diet because obesity is like a calamity in America, although she said that she herself did not need to lose weight.

The mother of three blamed the parents for the alarming rates of child-obesity in the country, “Whatever they put on the plate in front of the children, they’re hungry, they don’t cook, they eat. So if you put food in front of them that’s junk, of course, they eat it, and then they get obese.”

The 'luxury kit', for sale on Gianluca's website, includes four different kinds of herbal-extract-based 'tonics', two kinds of flavored drinks, soup, and fusilli pasta. It comes at an original price of $1,072.80 for just one person, however, it is currently offered at a discounted price of $749.

In addition to the 'luxury kit', Gianluca also sells individual products as well as other meal plans, including a $480 (discounted price: $439) 'gold kit' containing flavored drinks, herbal extracts, and sesame crackers for 80 days, and a $300 (discounted at $289) 'silver kit' lasting 100 days.
