Queen Latifah stuns in black and white outfit while on a carnival cruise ship

Queen Latifah dons a chic black and white outfit while smiling on-board a new carnival cruise ship.

Just roughly two weeks after receiving an honorary doctorate degree from Rutgers University in her home state of New Jersey, the rapper has been named "godmother" of the Carnival Cruise Ship's latest fleet addition, the "Carnival Horizon"

To celebrate the newest addition to the Carnival Cruise family, a naming ceremony was held which included a bunch of champagne, an official Lip Sync battle, and the awarding of $100,000 to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The funds presented to the Children's Hospital represent the money raised from numerous onboard and ashore fundraisers held by the company. The cruise line pledged full ongoing support for St. Jude's, providing more than $16 million to help fund the fight against childhood cancer. The cruise line and the hospital have been partners since 2010.

Taking to Instagram to show her happiness to be on board the latest Carnival Cruise, Latifah shared the special experience with her fans and follwers.

"My time aboard Carnival Horizon was nothing short of incredible. In addition to having the honor of serving as the ship's godmother, meeting the amazing kids from St. Jude and their families and squaring off against Jake in an all-out Lip Sync Battle is certainly something I will always cherish."

The Carnival Horizon kicked off its first summer schedule, offering some interesting and exciting activities such as a Cuban-themed bar and pool, an IMAX Theatre, a Dr. Seuss WaterWorks park, and a Smokehouse Brewhouse BBQ restaurant by Food Network star Guy Fieri.
