Tear-jerking moment father and son reunite after being apart for 37 years

Lamarr Mainor broke into tears the moment he saw his father whom he hadn't seen in 37 years.

Mainor shared a video and photos of the touching encounter on Facebook on October 5, 2017.

He wrote that he had the 'best day ever' after seeing his father, a surprise orchestrated by April Gonzales and Ladie Tee.

'You two women brought me my daddy after 37 years!' he wrote. He thanked all the people who greeted him on his birthday.

In the video, Mainor can be seen shaking as emotions overwhelmed him after seeing his father get off the car to meet with him.

'I tried to respond to everyone, but it seemed like all my friends gave e a wish at the same time this year. I'm so humbled and blessed today,' he added.

It wasn't clear why Mainor and his father hadn't seen each other for almost four decades. But they sure were overjoyed when they finally got reunited.

As reported by The Shade Room, Mainor's ex-girlfriend and current girlfriend made the birthday surprise to ease Mainor's sadness over a series of unfortunate events last year.

After a 15-year stint in jail, Mainor put up a non-profit organization for at-risk youth. But this non-profit almost went bankrupt.

A close friend of Mainor also died last December, a major blow to him. These unfortunate events took a toll on his health.

Concerned about his declining health, his girlfriend and ex-girlfriend planned a birthday surprise that will surely make him happy. They reached out to Mainor's father and told him about how it would mean to his son to meet him again.

On Mainor's birthday, his father stepped out of a vehicle supporting himself with a cane. Mainor was in tears. He hugged his father tight. They then had a lively conversation over a meal in a restaurant.
