'Emotional and crazy': Joanna Gaines admits newest baby was unplanned surprise

Chip and Joanna Gaines, the famous duo from Fixer Upper, have now five children but the proud mother revealed that Crew, the last one, wasn't planned.

Joanna gave birth to Crew on June 23, 2018, and it was a whole new experience for her because eight months had passed since the last time that she was pregnant.

During an interview with People, the Fixer Upper confessed that she wasn't expecting the results of the pregnancy test to come out positive and that her jaw dropped when she realized that she was carrying a child.

According to Joanna, she felt 'a little emotional and crazy,' and that Chip was already in the driveway, about to leave for work, when she called him to tell him the amazing news.

The Gaines learned that they were going to have another baby around the same time that they announced they were leaving their gig on HGTV to focus on their family and businesses.

The couple shared that they decided to leave because they believed the show had run its course and they had a lot on their plates at the time, which made then put their priorities in order.

The timing of the pregnancy might have seemed intentional, but the truth is that the parents were as surprised as everyone else. As explained by Joanna, they didn't wrap filming and decided to have a baby - it just happened.

Following the announcement, Chip took to his Twitter account to share a funny tweet with his fans and followers, claiming that Crew was conceived thanks to the Johnnyswim's romantic concert that the Gaines attended in Waco, Texas.

Now that Crew has joined his brothers, Drake and Duke, and sisters, Ella and Emmie Kay, Chip and Joanna want to make sure that he gets all the love and support he needs to grow happy and healthy.
