Brandy shares hug with younger brother Ray J after her weight gain

The loving siblings have shut down rumors about a rift between them with their recent posts on social media. Ray J came to his sister’s defense after fans started to speculate the singer was pregnant with her second child.

The Norwood siblings are closer than ever these days despite their busy schedules, and Brandy proved it by sharing a lovely photo with her younger brother, Ray J, on Instagram. In the pic, Brandy looks happy snuggling to her brother while Ray J hugs her looking away casually.

The cute moment was captioned “Just the two of us!!!” by the excited sister, who was happy to spend some quality time with her sibling, despite rumors spreading about the family being involved in some kind of drama a few months ago.

Ray J and his wife, Princess Love, welcomed their first daughter, Melody, last May, and when they celebrated their baby shower earlier this year, Brandy had to skip the event because of some work compromises she couldn’t cancel.

However, fans assumed the worse of her absence, implying that she chose to boycott the baby shower because of a now deleted post that Princess Love made on social media insinuating that Ray J had cheated on her. The new dad put a stop to the rumors talking to People and saying:

“Listen, you have good days and you have bad days in the family. It’s just unfortunate, but sometimes, people kind of take certain things they see and go out and let the public know. For us, we’ll be fine. There’s always gonna be love.”

In fact, he recently melted hearts by sharing a video of his sister holding little Melody in her arms and talking to her as the baby looked enraptured by whatever Brandy was saying.

Is not the first time that Ray comes to his family defense. A few months ago, fans noticed that Brandy was looking a bit thicker than usual, and while some started to body shame her and called her out for putting some weight, others assumed she was pregnant.

The 39-years-old singer took to her Instagram to make clear that she wasn’t pregnant, just “thicker than a snicker,” and later, on an interview with TrueExclusives, she addressed the issue once again saying:

“I went on a foodcation because I’d been eating clean for seven something odd years, in the gym, every day, playing tennis. I was like, ‘Yo; I’m tired of this crazy discipline. I need something to eat! I want some pasta! I want some pizza! I want some cake! I want something other than salmon, broccoli and asparagus, and water! Every day! Right after Roxie in Washington D.C., I went on a foodcation, honey. And I’m telling you, it’s been very tough for me to want to get off of it.”

Ray J also shared with People that at the time the pregnancy rumors were louder than ever, he had to call Brandy and ask, because they hadn’t seen each other. But he revealed his sister was just happy with her weight, and she was feeling more fabulous than ever.

The Norwood family is settling some goals with their cute interactions, as Brandy’s daughter was recently treated to a fantastic gift from her uncle and his wife for her 16th birthday. Sy’rai went on a shopping spree with a fat check Ray J and Princess Love gave her, as Brandy explained in an Instagram post.

We’re glad to know that rumors cannot damage the Norwoods’ relationship, and now that there’s a new baby in the family we’re sure they’re happier than ever.
