Serena Williams' daughter rocks pink dress and tennis racket bag in new picture
Olympia Ohanian is mommy’s number one fan in a photo she recently graced. The 7-month-old who’s now learning to walk made her mother cry when the tennis superstar missed her first steps while training for her tournament.
Serena Williams’ daughter Olympia Ohanian was on fan mode recently as she channeled a “Wimbledon ready” look in a post with that caption on her own Instagram account.
The 7-month-old celebrity baby was all smiles wearing a pink dress and slinging a tiny tennis bag on her shoulders ahead of her mom’s match at the popular tournament
It was just a few days ago when her mother confessed to crying after she missed her daughter’s first steps due to her commitments on the court. The 7-time Wimbledon champ tweeted,
“She took her first steps… I was training and missed it,”
The 36-year-old added, “I cried” and brought on a wave of support from her fans who assured her she was not alone.
“Herds of moms miss that. Kids are mean that way. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You'll miss a lot of firsts, but you'll see plenty too. Nobody but you is her her mom, you'll be together whenever it counts most!"
Even ESPN reporter Allison Bender could relate to the tennis player and shared her own experience missing her daughter’s first steps.
“I watched her first steps on a video. She'll be proud of you when she (grows) up.”
Despite that unfortunate setback, Serena has proven time and again what a great mother she is. She’s been sharing precious moments with her daughter as much as she can and even while working, she makes sure Olympia is close by. A lovely photo of the little girl sitting on the tennis court proved she is a tennis mom’s daughter and will always be a big part of her mom’s sports life.
Serena’s devotion to being the best mother to her daughter was also proven by the fact that she breastfed her for six whole months. She recently revealed how her original plan of feeding her pure breast milk for three months extended to six. She even confessed to crying a little after she told her daughter she was going to stop breastfeeding her.
“I literally sat Olympia in my arms and I talked to her and we prayed about it. And I told her, ‘Look, I’m gonna stop. Mommy has to do this.’ I cried a little bit — not as much as I thought I [would]. And she was fine.”
Serena is currently trying to get back in shape by shedding off her baby weight. She admitted losing 10 lbs after she stopped breastfeeding but insists she has a long way to go.
“It’s hard — I still feel like I have some to lose. But hey, I’m taking it a day at a time.”
As she should.
