Country singer asks fans to pray for wife who is battling cancer

Coffey Anderson's wife, Criscilla, has been diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.

On his Instagram, the country music star has asked for prayers as her wife recovers in the hospital after undergoing a surgery.

"She has been through more needle poking, blood taking, and worse things than I've ever heard someone having," Coffey wrote on June 13.

He shared that his wife hadn't been eating for four days. She was subsisting on liquids.

He said he was "feeling helpless but still believing that God is faithful." He asked his followers to take a minute to pray for his wife.

Nikki Andrews, a friend of the couple has put up a GoFundMe page to raise enough money for Criscilla's medical expenses.

The account has since raised $39,000, exceeding the original goal of $35,500.

Criscilla, a professional dancer, will be undergoing chemotherapy in the next six months.

"If you know Criscilla personally or you follow their life on Instagram, you can't help but adore her and her precious family. She has the most beautiful heart and right now the Andersons need our help," Andrews wrote on GoFundMe.

Doctors have removed two feet of Criscilla's colon along with a large mass during her surgery on June 13, 2018. Andrews shared that Criscilla has a colostomy bag to let her colon heal.

She added that the family will need people's generosity because Criscilla will not be able to work for a while.

"They didn't ask for this to be started but they graciously allowed me to start this campaign for their family to cover the massive hospital bills that are coming in and to help relieve the stress of it all so they can rest and heal together as a family," Andrews wrote.

Coffey has been chronicling Criscilla's battle against cancer for his more than 45,000 followers on Instagram.
