'Duck Dynasty' star undergoes surgery after family asked for prayers
Missy Robertson from Duck Dynasty has kept her followers up to date on her daughter, Mia Robertson’s surgical journey. On Monday, the teenager was due for another procedure.
Fans of the reality show know that Mia was born with a cleft lip and palate. According to her mother, this week she was going for her 8th procedure.
Mia Robertson, 14, is the only daughter of Jase and Missy Robertson. Throughout her life, she has undergone several different surgeries because she was born with a cleft lip and palate.
Missy and Jase have both been extremely open about the struggles that their family has faced as a result of their daughter’s developmental challenges. They've both posted about their daughter’s journey using the hashtag #BraveMia.
After a long day of doctors’ appointments & travel, we heard good news & not-so-good news about Mia’s progress. Knowing that our God is the Great Physician is the best news of all. She credited her daughter for bringing “so much depth to our lives and to our faith, and she has brought so much meaning to what life is about.” The teenager had her latest surgery on Monday.

On Sunday, Missy posted on Twitter revealing that Mia's friends had driven over to support her for the 8th cleft surgery. The post included Mia smiling and posing with several people.

On Friday, the reality star posted an image of her daughter being attended to by a doctor. The other images showed her having fun at the Dallas World Aquarium.

The same day that Mia had her latest surgery, her father gave an update. He shared with everyone on Twitter that the surgery had gone well and thanked his fans for their support.

Missy first revealed that her daughter would be having another surgery in May. At the time, she’d shared that they had heard some good and not-so-good news from doctors.
