So far, there are two top contenders, Abby Huntsman and Ana Navarro. It’s been reported that the show is looking for another conservative to fill Haines’ shoes.

Haines is leaving The View to join Michael Strahan as co-host of Good Morning America‘s new third hour. The new show is set to start on September 10.

Two people are apparently in discussions to replace her. Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Abby Huntsman and regular CNN contributor Ana Navarro are at the top of the list of contenders.

Paula Faris, a The View contributor is also leaving. A Fox News source said that Creative Artists Agency, which represents Huntsman, “is actually in breach of the contract and is not even in the appropriate time window to shop Abby to another network.”

ABC is said to be looking for a second conservative host for The View and has been eager to sign Huntsman for some time. Currently, Meghan McCain, a former Fox News colleague and a friend of Huntsman’s, is the only permanent conservative co-host.

Both Huntsman and Navarro are openly conservative media personalities on major news networks. They do, however, have different approaches to covering political news.

Huntsman, the daughter to current US Ambassador to Russia Jon Huntsman Jr., opts for a friendlier approach towards modern administrative affairs. Navarro, in turn, is opposed to the White House’s political policies and often calls out President Donald Trump’s actions and words.

In 2015, Huntsman joined Fox News as a general assignment reporter. She went on Fox & Friends Weekend as a co-host in December 2016.

The host has also been with MSNBC and ABC News. Meanwhile, Navarro has appeared regularly on The View to discuss her positions on policy.
