Latest official update on Marie Osmond's brother's condition

Marie Osmond took to Twitter to share updates about her brother, Tom Osmond, who was previously reported to have been struggling with health issues.

Osmond also shared a longer post on her website on July 15, 2018, detailing her brother’s progress. She said she had to wait for her sister-in-law, Carolyn’s word before telling the world about Tom.

Carolyn expressed that the family was grateful for all the prayers from the fans, as well as their close friends.

She shared how her husband has such a ‘determined, fighting spirit’

Carolyn revealed that the doctors were still keeping Tom in the ICU.

‘He’s under heavy medication and not out of the woods quite yet. But we will take each precious day and continue to trust in the Lord’s plan for him. Come what may, and in love,” she said, as revealed on Marie’s website.

Tom, now 70 years old, recently underwent quadruple bypass surgery.

Three days after the procedure, his brother, Donny Osmond, took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of his brother and a heartwarming message.

He also requested thoughts and prayers for Tom – who Donny said, at the time, was fighting for his life.

Along with the childhood photo he posted of him and Tom, he wrote on the caption, ‘He is on life support right now and fighting to hang on. It’s been an emotional and challenging few days for all of us, so I hope you’ll understand the radio silence from my end.’

Marie also posted a sweet message for her brother on Instagram.

Praising her brother, Marie wrote, ‘I’ve always seen his enthusiasm through his Christ-like [heart]. He just has a way of warming hearts with his big smile and tender hugs. He has such great love for all people, including strangers.’

Tom, much like his eldest brother Virl, is hearing impaired. Although, Tom also performed with his siblings for the family’s 70’s and 80’s TV specials.
