Remember Eddie from 'Family Matters'? He's now 42 & looks dapper in tailored tux in new pic
Darius McCrary is looking better than ever at his forties, despite the constant drama surrounding his life these days. The actor recently took to Instagram to share a pic rocking a suit, and fans are totally loving it.
He’s better known for giving life to Eddie Winslow, the oldest child of Carl and Harriette Winslow, on the sitcom ‘80s “Family Matters,” but these days, Darius has been facing lots of controversies surrounding his personal life.
Despite all the drama, he maintains a positive attitude and keeps on working on his craft. He recently took to Instagram to share an elegant photo where he’s rocking a tailored black suit with a classic white shirt underneath and a black tie, and fans are totally loving the look.
Instagram user @trinamcswain wrote “Nice suit you got there you look really handsome much love darling,” and @joeturner89 added, “You've aged so well since Family Matters!”
Late last year, McCrary told TMZ that he was “inappropriately touched” by a Hollywood executive when he was a young man but refused to said names because he was not “thirsty” for fame.
His declarations came after he was asked about Charlie Sheen’s sexual abuse accusations, as he tried to defend his friend saying: “People who are thirsty are always looking for a good drink, and from what I know, Charlie Sheen will quench your thirst.”
The media, of course, started to report that Darius had been sexually abused, something that he later tried to clarify when he made an appearance on the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” saying that he never stated he was abused, and that all he was trying to convey was that “we all have been touched at some point inappropriately.”
Darius has also been involved in a vicious custody battle with ex-girlfriend Tammy Brawner, who accused the actor of abusing drugs, alcohol and being violent toward her and their two-year-old daughter Zoey.
Brawner’s most shocking statement was that, when Zoey was around nine-months-old, Darius "held [our daughter] over a hot stove with fire going and boiling water going." She also revealed that McCrary told her he did not like their daughter and that he wished he didn’t have her.
The actor refused the claims, calling Tammy an attention seeker.
His lawyer told TMZ that Tammy was “a predator motivated by a desperate desire to extort money out of Mr. McCrary while trying to create an advantage in an impending divorce and custody battle.”
Last June, according to The Blast, Darius was ordered to pay only $28 per month in child support, after court documents showed he was earning $462 per month. Darius recently made a special appearance on seven episodes of the series “Star,” but apparently has not worked since then.
However, he is also required to pay for 50% of Zoey’s health and medical costs.
