Husband thinks his wife is going deaf and asks doctor for advice
This hilarious story reminds us of the importance of knowing how there often can be another perspective or side to our understanding of things.
An elderly man was once troubled after his wife stopped hearing him properly. Worried sick that she might be going deaf, he decided to visit a doctor and get his consultation.
At the doctor’s clinic, he asked, “Doctor, I need your help. I think my wife’s going deaf. She never answers a single question I ask her.”
The doctor sat the elderly man down while he pondered about the problem for several moments. “Try this,” he finally said.

“I need to first understand how serious the problem is. So when you go home today,” he continued, “stand quite some distance away from her and ask her something. If she doesn’t answer, move a little closer and try again.”
The man could only stare at the doctor in confusion, unsure about where he was going with this.
“Continue doing this until she is finally able to hear you, and we will know just how bad the situation is,” the doctor reassured.

The man nodded and returned home, determined to solve the issue with his wife. As soon as he entered through the front door, he saw his wife and immediately asked, “What are we having for supper, dear?”
But he didn’t hear an answer. So, as per the doctor’s suggestion, he moved a couple of feet closer to his wife and repeated the question.
Again, he could not hear anything. He thought to himself that the problem might have been more severe than he had thought.

He inched in a few steps closer and asked again. But, again, he didn’t hear a word.
He kept on moving closer to his wife until he was only a few inches away from her face. “What are we having for supper?”
Finally, he heard his wife scream, “For the fifteenth time, we’re having chicken pie!”
