Now her estranged husband and frontman singer for Korn has released a statement elaborating on her wellbeing before her death. On the same day she passed on; he had filed a restraining order against her.

On the Friday that Deven Davis, 39, passed away, her husband Jonathan Davis had filed for a domestic violence restraining order against her due to drug abuse issues. When news broke of her death, he took out a statement.

"The Davis family is brokenhearted over the devastating loss of Deven Davis. We ask that you respect their privacy — and the privacy of those close to the family — and allow them the space to mourn in private. We thank you for your love, understanding and prayers of support during this difficult time," a representative for Jonathan said.

He took to social media to share that her sudden passing was due to her struggles with mental illness and addiction.

The singer wrote, "Over the past decade, my wife has been very very sick. She had a serious mental illness and her addiction was a side effect. I loved her with ALL of my being."

He revealed that he’d tried to hide what was going on with her in order to protect her. However, now that she was gone, he felt that he needed to tell the truth.

Jonathan cited his wife as the reason why he’d advocated for mental health awareness because of her personal struggles. He shared that he hoped California laws would change so that those suffering from the illness can get help.

"I have comfort in knowing that now she has found freedom from her illness, and she is finally at peace," he added. The singer stated that "I promise I'll do everything in my power to raise our precious boys the right way, teach them the good values you wanted them to have so badly, and break the cycle of abuse we both experiences as kids."
