'He's really 60 and I'm really 15!' Tina Turner on the age gap in her marriage to Erwin Bach
- Tina Turner is happy in love with her second husband, Erwin Bach.
Tina Turner has discovered exactly what love has got to do with it.
The Grammy Award-winning singer married her longtime boyfriend after 27 years of dating.
Turners first marriage to Ike Turner in 1962 was tumultuous and well documented in the tabloids.
Ike was not only a drug abuser but also physically abusive to the singer, who finally struck out on her own on July 27, 1976.
Erwin Bach tied the knot with the musical legend in a civil ceremony in Switzerland, which has been their home for over 15 years.
At 16 years younger than his wife, Bach is a wealthy music mogul and is reportedly worth $50 million.
However, the singer does not seem fazed by the age difference and says that they balance each other out.
Hes really 60 and Im really 15, gushes the singer.
The pair met at an EMI record label in 1985 where Bach was a record executive at the label Tina was signed to at the time. They were just friends for about a year before they made it official.
It is reported that Turner rejected Bachs first proposal.
Bach reportedly proposed to Tina before her 50th birthday because he thought it was the way he felt at the moment.
Turner, who had claimed that she would never marry again, felt that they didnt need a marriage and went on to say that they were as married then as if it were legal
We are married. We just havent walked down the aisle, and until theres a need to, we probably wont, declared the singer.
Well, it looks like the need finally came up.
The singer wore a wedding gown designed by Giorgio Armani. The gown was a striking green taffeta and black silk tulle dress. It was embellished with Swarovski crystals.
