San Antonio woman risked her child's life in a high-risk getaway from police
A video taken by a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter and posted on Twitter shows a high-speed chase involving a woman with a baby in a carrier in her car.
San Antonio Police troopers were in hot pursuit of Caitlyn Rodriguez, 29, driving a Mercedes SUV, along Highway 90 near Lackland Air Force Base.
Rodriguez was wanted on outstanding warrants, and her criminal records include convictions for felony theft, forgery, and prostitution. She was also arrested for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
The runaway criminal had a baby with her
It was Police's attempts to stop Rodriguez on her warrants that triggered her headlong flight.
In the video, Rodriguez is seen driving at over 100 mph down Highway 90 before crashing into the back of a pickup that had stopped at a red light.
Rodriguez is then seen getting out of her SUV, she grabbed a child carrier with her baby in it and began running down the road on foot.

The desperate fugitive attempted to carjack another vehicle
Rodriguez ran through the traffic, then she attempted to steal a car from a woman at gunpoint.
The woman Rodriguez attempted to carjack also had a small child with her. Fortunately, a trooper parked his police car in front of the vehicle Rodriguez was trying to steal and drew his weapon.
Two children were rescued by the San Antonio Police
He pointed his gun at the car and instructed the driver to unlock her door.
State troopers pulled Rodriguez out of the car and handcuffed, and both children and the owner of the car were unharmed.
Rodriguez was arrested and faces several charges
Rodriguez was charged with child endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest, in addition to her original warrants.
She has been in Police custody since her the high-speed chase, and her child was turned over to Child Protective Services.
