Police officers pulled dying man from the wreckage of a car to say goodbye to his family
After a horrific accident in Derbyshire, officers gave a dying man the opportunity to say goodbye to his loved ones.
As reported by Derbyshire Live, the crash occurred on Whittington Road and officers who came upon the scene couldn't save the victim's life.
Officers Pete Robinson said they were on another call when they saw the carnage up head on Whittington Road.
There was nothing they could do for Bradshaw, other than pulling him from the wreckage and give him extra time to say goodbye to his family.
Bradshaw's vehicle was crushed entirely and they used fire extinguishers to keep the flames under control.
They carried Bradshaw away from the wreckage on a stretcher, and he passed away soon after being airlifted to the hospital. One of the officers said:
"His injuries were horrific – I could not believe he was still conscious when we got to him, but the fact that we helped him say goodbye to his family will always stick with me."
A 30-year-old driver from the other vehicle, Daniel Spooner, succumbed to his wounds at the scene of the accident.
The incident took place in back in October 2017, but it still haunts the officers to this day. Earlier this year, a well-known YouTuber lost his life in an accident in San Diego.
Trever Heitmann, also known as McSkillet, was driving with his 43 -year-old mother 12-year-old daughter when their Hyundai hit another car on Interstate 805.
The collision caused a 5-car pile-up and McSkillet along with his mother and daughter lost their lives due to blunt force trauma.
He had nearly a million followers on YouTube, who were shocked at the news of his passing. Read the full account here.
