Kelly Clarkson amazed audience with powerful performance of national anthem
Singer and songwriter Kelly Clarkson stunned the crowd with her incredible rendition of the U.S. national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner."
On May 27, 2018, Clarkson, 36, took the stage at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the annual Indy 500.
The Grammy award winner, who rose to fame in 2002 after winning the inaugural season of the television series, "American Idol," gave a rousing version of the national anthem.

“Thank you so much [Indianapolis Motor Speedway] for having me!!,” Clarkson wrote on her Twitter account. “Y’all know how to have good time."
Clarkson sure has done it again, and the internet is blowing up with praise for her performance.
Twitter user "Christa Bailey" wrote, "Kelly Clarkson needs to permanently sing the National Anthem for everything everywhere. Beautiful performance!"
"Kelly Clarkson is the only person who should ever sing the national anthem, ever," user "The Red Lady" added.
"Our National Treasure just sang a stunning performance of our National Anthem!!" commented user "marian gerula."
Other notable stars who attended the 102nd running of the Indy 500 were actor Chris Hemsworth and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Comedian-host Nick Cannon and NBA star Victor Oladipo also made an appearance.
This isn’t the first time the "My Life Would Suck Without You" singer has graced the Speedway. She previously sang the anthem at the 2011 Indy 500, when she collaborated with Seal.
The past couple of months have been fruitful for her. She first impressed viewers with her hosting gig at the Billboard Music Awards held on May 20.
Two days later, the singer was crowned as the winning coach on the singing reality show, “The Voice,” when her protégé Brynn Cartelli won the prize as the youngest finalist and winner in the show's history.
Clarkson, who scored a total of over 100 number ones on the Billboard charts, has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide.
