In a piece she wrote for The Guardian, the actress and model revealed how she’d influenced other stars to give up fur. She shared that she became a vegan at a young age.

On Wednesday, Pamela Anderson, 51, called herself a “naughty vegan.” She also revealed that she’d convinced the First Lady Melania Trump and Kim Kardashian to stop wearing fur, according to Page Six.

The move came after she sent both women Russian faux fur coats as gifts last year from her own design line. At the time, she’d thought it was a good gesture but later had a change of mind.

“Today I wouldn’t wear fur, and I don’t want to glamorise it by wearing faux, but it’s still better than wearing someone’s else’s skin.”

The star also shared that her sons were following in her footsteps too. Their modelling contracts explicitly state that they won’t wear fur.

Both of them are also vegans like their mother but she insisted that she’d never forced it on them. Having made the choice to be vegan, Anderson admitted that it wasn’t something she would force on anyone.

In turn, she praised those who made an effort like people who followed Meatless Mondays. It is an initiative where people don’t eat meat on Mondays.

Anderson felt doing that meant “you are still doing something good.” She further explained the clothing she used to wear.

Her hyper-sexy persona was created when she acted on “Baywatch” and posed for “Playboy.” The star confessed that she’d “never thought much about the red swimsuit I wore on ‘Baywatch.’”

She admitted that she’d thought people watched the program for its message. None of them was trying to be sexy and her days of wearing leather were done.

She explained that her activism had started with animals and then she moved to environmental causes with Vivienne Westwood. Anderson confessed to learning a lot from Westwood.

In her piece, she described how she’d come about to being a vegan. She said her journey started long ago when she was just a child.

One day, her father, who was a hunter, left a dead deer without its head hanging outside their home, dripping blood into a bucket. She cried for days and that’s when she chose her path and she even got her father to stop hunting too.
