Famous model publicly blasts Kim Kardashian: 'she is no icon'

On Monday night Kim Kardashian West was honored by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) with the first-ever Influencer Award. However, not everyone felt that she was deserving of the accolade.

Top model, Adwoa Aboah, blatantly called out the decision when Vogue offered their congratulations on Instagram. Super Model Daily picked up on Aboah’s comment and posted it on Twitter.

Aboah is a top model who was named model of the year by British Vogue in 2017. She was one star who felt Kim Kardashian West wasn’t an influencer as per her award.

Vogue had posted on Instagram acknowledging Kardashian West’s award when model Winnie Harlow replied to the post congratulating the reality star. Aboah replied to Harlow asking her if she was joking.

The top model then berated Kardashian West saying she wasn’t an influence in any form. Harlow quickly spoke up in response to Aboah and tried to defend the reality star.

‘I may not agree with everything anyone does but I show love where I feel it’s due. And a woman being herself against everything is admirable,’ Harlow wrote as part of her post.

Harlow added that she thought Kardashian West did inspire others to be themselves. The model confessed that maybe she just wanted to see the best in people.

‘Is this a joke babe..In what world has she inspired women to be themselves? She is no icon nor an influencer and I find it completely crazy that anyone would think she was.’

She concluded her reply by stating that the reality star was a great human being. However, Aboah wasn’t the only model who felt the award had gone to the wrong person.

Doutzen Kroes, another one of the industry’s top models, took a more subtle approach at voicing her opinions. Super Model Daily again noticed that Kroes had liked over 10 negative comments on the same Vogue Instagram post that Aboah commented on.

One of the comments that the star liked said nothing about Kardashian West was influential. The person felt society was troubled if we thought that anyone in the reality star’s family was influential in any way.

Another comment liked by Kroes said Vogue didn’t listen to its readership as none of them wanted to hear anything about the Kardashian/Jenner clan. Other critics Kroes seemed to agree with believed that Kardashian West was only in it for the money.

That person asked how much the award cost. The poster also felt that the reality star paid magazines like Vogue to keep promoting her image.

When Kardashian West received the award from Busy Philipps on Monday, she confessed that she was shocked about winning a fashion award when most of the time she was naked. She added that it was, however, an honor.
