Lizzo made her appearance at the amfAR Gala on May 21, 2026, during the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France, wearing a look that people couldn't ignore. But as striking as her outfit was, a short video clip of her boyfriend circulating online left netizens wondering: why is he acting like that?

As reported by Vogue, Lizzo wore a cobalt blue gown by designer Robert Wun, drawn from his spring 2026 couture collection. The silhouette featured a strapless sculptural bust and a dramatic mermaid skirt that commanded the entire carpet.

The accessory that got everyone's attention was a nipple necklace by jewelry designer Anabella Chan, which was, to put it plainly, not easy to miss. And then there were the gloves: long blue ones, fitted to match the dress, with a second set of sculptural hands layered on top.

But while Lizzo was drawing every eye on the carpet, a video of her boyfriend, Myke Wright, told a slightly different story. The clip showed Wright appearing distracted, fiddling with his bowtie, and not looking at Lizzo as she walked ahead of him.

For a moment that was supposed to be hers, the footage struck viewers as jarring. She looked back, and he wasn't watching her. Naturally, the internet noticed immediately.

Who Is Myke Wright?

Wright is a comedian, designer, and actor. He has been in a couple of episodes of "Breaking & Entering," "Doubting Thomas," and "How to Be a Grown-Up," and in 2019, he appeared in the short film "Tell Me What You Know About Cyrus."

Since his high school days, Wright has always loved music and once revealed that he used to be in a band known as The Grey Level before he started Phresh Heir, a hip hop group.

As a designer, he has contributed designs to EMLE, a Detroit-based luxury clothing brand. Wright is also the founder of Ümi, a design and innovation company that brings the brightest minds together to form material solutions for human problems.

Lizzo and Wright had known each other for a while and worked together in 2016 when they co-hosted MTV's music series "Wonderland." No one knows when they started dating, but they were first spotted together in October 2021.

On Valentine's Day in 2022, they had dinner at Craig's, and in April 2022, she confirmed to Andy Cohen in an interview that her man was there to support her when she hosted "Saturday Night Live."
