Toddler tries to catch up to his parents after falling out of a moving van (video)

The camera of a vehicle captured the moment in which an infant fell from the trunk of a van in the middle of a busy road in China.

According to the Huffington Post, the potentially disastrous incident took place in the Wujiang district of Jiangsu province, when the boy's grandfather drove his van and the boy crawled all over the vehicle until he ended up in the trunk.

The shocking video posted on YouTube shows how the vehicle was stopped by a red light. Finally, it advances when the green light appears but causes the trunk door to open and the two-year-old falls onto the asphalt.

In the footage, it is possible to see how the child gets up and tries to run after the vehicle since its occupants had not noticed his absence and had continued their way.

A Good Samaritan who was driving behind the van ran to the rescue of the little boy, while another driver chased the grandfather's van. Read more on our Twitter account @amomama_usa

"I was waiting in the red light. After passing the intersection, a car chased me and kept honking," said the boy's grandfather, according to the Huffington Post.

"The driver told me that a child fell out of my truck. I looked back, parked my van to the side and went back to look for my grandson, "he said.

Fortunately, the child did not suffer any type of injury, but the consequences of what happened could end up being fatal for him.

After the incident, the local traffic police reminded the drivers to put into practice the security measures established to travel with children.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the use of appropriate car seats according to the age and size of each child is recommended. Lifting seats and child safety belts significantly reduce the risk of injury.

This is not the first time that an accident like that one occurs in China. According to a Youtube video, there was another child that had the same accident after falling from the same type of vehicle.

Toddlers may feel a little reticent about being on the car seat but parents should always remember that safety always comes first and even if our children cry we have to teach them what is best for them since they don’t have that knowledge.

Like this 4-year-old that fell from a window, but he was luckily saved by to workers that were resting near the building. The men spotted the child hanging from the window frame and quickly jumped into action to try to catch him.
